Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT) Degree

  • TEACH Program completers can earn a MAT degree with only 12 additional hours of coursework beyond the alternative certification.
  • The traditional 33-hour MAT degree program is available for all candidates who:
    • have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university
    • hold a valid teaching license
    • are employed in a state approved K-12 school

Certification Programs:

  • TEACH Program

    Candidates earn teaching certification in just one year through the Louisiana College TEACH Program. This hybrid program is the most teacher-friendly program in the state, with the perfect blend of face-to-face mentor support and much of the coursework being offered online. The TEACH program offers certifications for:

    • Early Childhood
    • Elementary Education
    • Middle School Education
    • Secondary Education
    • Special Education
  • Educational Leadership Add-on Certification

    This Alternative Pathway for Educational Leadership Program fulfills course requirements for master-degreed educators seeking the required certification to attain highly competitive, administrative, leadership positions in today’s educational systems.

Master of Education (MEd) Degree

  • The 36-hour MEd degree program is available for all candidates who:
    • have a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited university
    • have a minimum of a 2.5 cumulative grade point average on all previously completed coursework (undergraduate and graduate)
