Commuter Services

We welcome commuter students to the campus of Louisiana College. Commuter students of all ages are strongly encouraged to get involved in activities on campus. You will find the Student Development personnel to be available to assist you in your transition on campus. Debbie Merlan serves as the staff liason for the commuter students and organization advisor to CARS (Commuter Association of Road Scholars).

There are several services which may make your stay on campus more comfortable.

Campus Mail Service

You will be assigned a Campus Post Office box at registration. All commuters are encouraged to check their boxes regularly. The post office boxes are used by the faculty, staff, and student organizations to communicate with the student body. The Post Office is located on the 2nd floor of the Hixson Student Center. Campus Lockers

A limited number of lockers are available in the Student Center. They are excellent for storing books and personal items between classes. There is no charge to use the lockers.

Commuter Meal Plan

A commuter may purchase a meal plan from the Business Office which can be used at both The Den and Hattie B. Strother Cafeteria. The plan is sold in $75 increments with additional increments available during the semester. The student receives a bar code which is affixed to their student ID. The bar code is scanned at the time of purchase. Microwave ovens are also available for student use. Learn more.

Vehicle Registration and Parking

All motorized vehicles operated on the Louisiana College campus must be registered with Campus Security. Decals may be purchased at the time of registration. Commuters have several parking areas designated for their use. Two commuter parking lots are located on the boulevard across from the Fine Arts Building. In addition there is a parking lot located behind Martin Performing Arts Center. There is a limited number of parking spaces available on the streets surrounding the campus. 

Health Services

The Student Health Center is located on the main floor of the Hixson Student Center. These services are available to commuter students.

Traffic and Parking Regulations

Traffic regulations provide for the safety of pedestrians and drivers alike.

Counseling Services

Counseling services are available to commuter students. The office is located on the 3rd floor of the Hixson Student Center.
