About Philip Caples, PhD

Dr. Caples joined the Louisiana College family in 2011. He enjoys investing in students and watching them develop both spiritually and academically. Areas of academic interest include: preaching, pastoral ministry, hermeneutics, and biblical studies. He is an active member of the Society of Biblical Literature, Evangelical Theological Society, and Evangelical Homiletical Society.  He also serves as the Vice President for the Integration of Faith on the President’s Leadership Team.

Dr. Caples is married to Joann, who works at Norton Library at LC. They have two children: Christopher and Justin and three grandchildren. He enjoys serving local Southern Baptist churches across Louisiana. When he is not working, he loves to fish, cook, and visit with family.
