About Nancy Whitlock, Ph.D.

Dr. Whitlock joined the Louisiana College faculty in 2005.  Her interests include Hispanic culture, literature, and linguistics.  The Spanish program aims to cover cultural, historical, artistic, and linguistic productions from the Iberian Peninsula, Latin America, and the United States.

Dr. Whitlock specializes in Colonial and 20th century Latin American literature.  New areas of interest include U. S. Hispanic literature, a new and exciting field studying Hispanic texts written in what is now the United States, from the 1500’s to the present.

At Louisiana College, Dr. Whitlock serves as chair of the International Activities committee, as well as serving on several other committees.  She is co-sponsor of Alpha Mu Gama, the foreign language honor society.  She assists other language faculty in sponsoring events for language students and for Louisiana College honor students.  In addition, she holds the Bell South Professorship in Liberal Arts.
