Welcome Week | Louisiana College

Welcome Week

We are excited to welcome you to your new home away from home. Making the transition from high school to college is one of the most exciting times in life and we want to do our best to help you navigate this transition well. From the moment you arrive on campus we will have an orientation staff here to walk you through your first week at Louisiana College. You will have a week long orientation to help you familiarize yourself campus and all you will need to know to succeed as a freshman. We don’t want to leave mom and dad out of that process. On Saturday afternoon we will have a brief parent orientation in the Martin Performing Arts Theater from 4 to 6 pm. This will give you time to get settled in your room before your parents step away and we will let them go in time to take you out for a family dinner in your new hometown.

While you are getting settled on Saturday make sure you stop by the lawn in front of Cottingham Hall (the girls’ residence hall) and grab a free burger and cold bottle of water. The student orientation staff will be there from 11am to 2pm to get your checked in for welcome week with an orientation packet just for you! If you haven’t registered for welcome week please do that now so that we can have a t-shirt in your size waiting for your arrival.

We would also love for you to join us on Sunday morning for a time of family worship. This will be a special time of musical worship and a challenge from the Word with Dr. Rick Brewer. We will end this time with a special prayer time with your family. We will meet in the Martin Performing Arts Theater at 9:30am and at the conclusion of the service you will be free until we officially kick off  Wildcat Welcome Week at 5pm back in the theater.
