2000 Distinguished Alumni

Dr. Thomas Arnold

Arnold is a 1983 graduate of LC and is currently serving as the Associate Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine and is Medical Director of the Section of Clinical Toxicology at the LSU Health Services Center in Shreveport.

He became one of the first physicians in the state to obtain sub-specialty board certification in Medical Toxicology and is currently the only emergency physician in the state boarded in that sub-specialty.


Kenneth Lesley

Lesley is retired from Burlington Industries, Inc., where he worked from 1968 until 1995. At Burlington, Lesley held several positions within the company, including Division Personnel Manager, Area Personnel Executive, and Vice President of Human Resources and Public Relations.

The Greensboro, NC, resident is currently a member of the Greensboro Rotary Club and of the Board of Directors of the Greensboro Urban Ministry.


Edward "Butch" Morrison

Morrison is a Central Louisiana native and has been involved in the community for years. Owner and operator of Adams Pest Control and Morrison Environmental Services, he is a past president of the Louisiana Pest Control Association.

He is a member and past president of the Louisiana College Wildcat Athletic Association and a member and past chairman of the deacons at First Baptist Church in Pineville.


Betty Carter Stokeld

Stokeld is a resident of Baton Rouge and an "I Care Specialist" with the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Program of the East Baton Rouge Parish School Board. She is a member of the Melrose Civic Association Board and the Advisory Council of the Louisiana Moral and Civic Foundation.

She has served as a member of the LC Board of Trustees and on the Louisiana Baptist Convention's Committee on Moral and Social Concerns.
