Summer Youth Programs

Louisiana College is proud to host several summer programs for the youth in our community.

CATS--Center for Academically Talented Students

The Center for Academically Talented Students (CATS) demonstrates Louisiana College's commitment to meeting the needs of the academically strong student. Each summer, CATS provides elementary and junior high students the opportunity to receive accelerated enrichment experiences designed to challenge the academic ability of each child.  In addition, social activities with peers (daily swimming, health and physical activities, etc.) independent study projects at each grade level, and in some classes small group field trips will be provided.  Enrollment is limited in each class to ensure the quality of the program.

For further information, please email Pam McLin at If you would like a brochure to be mailed to you, please email your name and address to the email above.

Louisiana College Nurse Camp

Offered biennially,  the LC Nurse Camp is designed to help high school juniors and seniors explore the field of nursing and determine if a career in nursing is right for their future.

If you've considered a career in nursing, you will want to take advantage of this unique opportunity. You'll combine hospital tours and CPR training with the personal experiences of LC nursing students, faculty and graduates.

Discover Louisiana College's exceptional nursing program. The purpose of the Division of Nursing is to educate, from a Christian perspective, a professional nurse to practice within a caring context in a variety of healthcare settings. The nursing major is a four-year baccalaureate program including clinical experience in both in-patient and ambulatory settings.
