The intercollegiate athletics program of Louisiana College has operated
historically in strict adherence to a philosophy and purpose in harmony
with and supportive of the College's identity and mission. The specific
purposes of the athletics program include fostering healthy interpersonal
relationships, inspiring a sense of spirit and pride among students, contributing
to a comprehensive student recruitment program, promoting the emotional
and physical well-being of students, fostering intellectual, cultural,
and social development outside the formal instructional program. All of
these purposes support the College's mission of striving to educate the
total person.
Currently a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association,
Division III, and the American Southwest Conference, the College agrees
with and supports the attitudes, statements and regulations espoused by
those organizations regarding standards of sportsmanship, ethic, amateur
athletics competition, and fair play, gender equity, and the financial
support, academic success, and health and welfare of student-athletes.
The College is committed to working with these organizations as it strives
to accomplish both specific purposes of the athletic program and the overall
mission of the College.
Louisiana College sponsors varsity athletic teams for both men and women
in basketball, soccer; baseball, football, and golf for men; cross country,
tennis and softball for women. Varsity sports are offered through the
