Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing
The Louisiana College School of Nursing offers an accelerated program leading to the Bachelor of Science
in Nursing (B.S.N.) for second-degree students. The course of study combines pre-requisite coures with
education in the theory and practice of nursing. Graduates are eligible to sit for the NCLEX exam. This is
a full-time,
16 month program which begins in the fall semester every year. Only second-degree students are
eligible for admission.
Admission Criteria
Cumulative GPA of 2.6
Louisiana College Accelerated Nursing application with application fee
Completion of TEAS exam during interview process
Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions
Grades of C or higher are required for all Natural Science, Social Science, Math and English pre-requisite courses.

Acceptance into the program is conditional until all application elements, including the following items, are satisfactorily completed:
Dosage calculation test with 84% or greater
Current CPR certification
Physical exam form & immunization record
Clear urine drug screen
Clear criminal background check

An application for admission into the Accelerated B.S.N. Program may be requested by e-mailing

or by calling (318) 487-7135. A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or
university is required. All pre-requisites must be completed before beginning the program.
All applications must be received by March 1, 2010 in order to be eligible for the
upcoming August cohort.
Tuition & Financial Aid
The Accelerated B.S.N. Program is a 61 credit hour nursing program. The nursing tuition costs approximately $22,500. This cost is based
on current rates and is subject to change.
