2008 Commencement to be held Sat., May 10th

 Pineville, LA.The Louisiana College Office of Academic Affairs proudly recognizes students who have completed all of the hours to receive an undergraduate degree.The one hundred and second convocation of Louisiana College will take place on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. in Guinn Auditorium on the campus of Louisiana College. 163 students will be graduating.

“This year Louisiana College is honored to have Governor Bobby Jindal as the commencement speaker,” said Joe Aguillard, President of Louisiana College. “Governor Jindal is an eloquent and passionate speaker and a statesman who is bringing his message about positive change for our state; I know our graduates will never forget this experience.”

During the commencement, two Honorary Doctorates will be bestowed; an Honorary Doctorate of Laws to Governor Jindal and an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity to Thomas Charles French, Pastor of Jefferson Baptist Church in Baton Rouge.

LC to Offer On-line Courses Begining This Summer

Pineville, LA.Louisiana College is now offering on-line courses. The first on-line courses will begin this summer with a limited number of classes, with the program expanding this fall.

“Offering on-line classes will be a tremendous help to our current students and will also open up opportunities for non-traditional students around the state,” explained Carolyn Dennis, Louisiana College Registrar.

Fourteen courses will be offered this summer:

Students may register for on-line courses from May 27th - May 30th by telephoning the LC Registrar’s Office (318) 487-7222. The cost of the on-line courses includes a $150 fee, in addition to the regular tuition and fees. On-line courses must be paid by credit card.
