Louisiana College offers numerous
scholarships based on leadership and academic ability.
A prestigious scholarship program, LC's Top 30 Scholars,
seeks to reward the most academically gifted students and to provide well-rounded
applicants with generous support to continue their educational plans at
LC.
Participation in LC's Top 30 Scholars is by
invitation only. Applicants must complete their files by December 7 to
be considered. Thirty applicants will be invited to campus in January
to compete for the Smith Scholarship which provides full tuition, room,
board, and fees for four years. All invitees automatically receive a $8,000
annual scholarship* to LC and are designated as one of LC's Top 30 Scholars.
Excellence in the Arts seeks to honor and reward
students with exceptional gifts/talents in the fields of art, music or
theatre. The application deadline for consideration is February 27. Twenty
students will be invited to campus to compete for awards ranging from
$2,900 to $5,000 per year. Competition is by invitation only. Students
desiring consideration must submit a portfolio for review or audition
with the Division of Visual and Performing Arts. The competition is scheduled
for a Saturday in March. For guidelines regarding
materials submission, contact the Office of Admission.
Scholarships may still be given to deserving students after the priority
consideration deadlines, provided that funds are still available. All
students are encouraged to complete their applications as soon as possible
in order to receive timely consideration during the scholarship award
process. This scholarship
list (PDF Format) provides an overview
of the major awards for which most students may qualify. Please consult
it for appropriate deadlines and consideration criteria.
Additionally, students may be eligible to apply for departmental scholarships.
Applicants may contact the Office of Admissions for additional information
about scholarship applications for a particular academic area.
*All scholarship awards are subject to LC financial
aid policy. Total amount awarded cannot exceed the student's cost of attendance
at LC.
