Kathleen McGinty-Johnston is writing her dissertation on the intersection of the poetry of Robert Browning and Elizabeth Barrett Browning, with a wider interest in literature of the Victorian period and the nature of early feminist writing. As a Teaching Assistant at Baylor University, she was selected as the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant and was invited to become a Graduate Fellow at Baylor's Academy for Teaching and Learning. She has presented her research in both national and international conferences, including a conference on the Victorians and Dante that was held at University College London in 2012.
