Dr. Langford teaches New Testament and Greek at Louisiana College. He received a B.A. in Sociology from Louisiana College, a M.Div. in Biblical Languages from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary, a Th.M. from NOBTS, and a Ph.D. in New Testament from NOBTS.


Dr. Langford’s areas of research interest include the General Epistles (especially 1 Peter), Gospel of John, Koine Greek, and hermeneutics. He is a member of the Evangelical Theological Society and the Society of Biblical Literature. He regularly attends annual conference meetings and frequently presents scholarly papers. Most recently, he has published a book with Wipf and Stock Publishers on the use of Isaiah in 1 Peter entitled Defending Hope: Semiotics and Intertextuality in 1 Peter (2013).


Dr. Langford is married to Melinda and they have three children: Noah (7 yrs), London (4 yrs), and Reilly (2 yrs). Outside of teaching and engaging with students, he loves music (guitar, mandolin, piano), football (LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints), coffee, and spending time with his family. Prior to coming to Louisiana College, Dr. Langford lived and studied in New Orleans for almost 10 years, so he always appreciates a good bowl of red beans and rice or gumbo! He has also served various churches as a youth and music minister.
