About Dr. Elliott:
-B.S. Biology, Louisiana College, 1981
-Ph.D. Polymer Science, University of Southern Mississippi, 1986
Dr. Elliott serves as Division Chair for Natural Sciences / Mathematics. He holds the rank of Associate Professor of Chemistry, and teaches mainly Organic Chemistry. He has taught at LC since 2005. He was named as holder of the George F. Kirby Endowed Professorship of Chemistry in 2008. He was awarded faculty tenure in 2012.
Before joining the faculty at LC, he served as research scientist at Unilever Research US from 1986 to 1992, and as a product development scientist at Calgon Corporation from 1992 to 2000, and at the Gillette Company from 2000 to 2005. He has authored about ten research publications in polymer chemistry and in water treatment chemistry, and has been named as an inventor on 18 US patents.
Dr. Elliott is married to Bonny, who works in Student Development at LC, and they have three adult children: daughter Ruth and sons Thomas and Nathan. His interests outside of teaching include writing and cooking.
