Louisiana College Storm Status
Louisiana College will close its campus after classes end on Monday, August 27th, in preparation for Tropical Storm Isaac, which is expected to become a Hurricane before it makes landfall. Classes will resume Tuesday, September 4th, after the Labor Day holiday.
All residential students are being urged to consider relocating off campus due expected power outages and the controlled shutdown of the Louisiana College voice and data communication system.
All residential students weathering the storm here at Louisiana College should expect to be relocated Tuesday evening to a central building on campus for the duration of the storm. Inconveniences students should expect are loss of power, loss of air conditioning, loss of restroom facilities, and the loss of Louisiana College’s computer network services.
Louisiana College President, Joe Aguillard, made the decision monday afternoon based off of the storms projected strength and path. “We want to give students plenty of time to go home and make preparations with family as the storm approaches,” Dr. Aguillard said.
Offices will be closed for faculty and staff noon Tuesday. For more information check the Louisiana College website.
