PINEVILLE, LA – Louisiana College, a private, Baptist coeducational college of liberal arts and sciences in central Louisiana, has been named the No. 12 “Most Conservative College” in the United States according to Newsweek as part of  “2012’s Best Colleges For You”, its third annual college rankings report.

LC was ranked No. 12 in a list of 25 colleges and universities just ahead of Brigham Young University-Idaho and just behind Harding University of Searcy, Ark. while Ave Maria University of Florida was ranked as the most conservative school in America.

“We count it a great honor to be listed as the twelfth most conservative College in the nation. ” said LC President, Dr. Joe Aguillard. “Louisiana College is unapologetically passionate about fulfilling our Motto: Unchanging Foundations and our mission - to provide liberal arts, professional, and graduate programs characterized by devotion to the preeminence

of the Lord Jesus, allegiance to the authority of the Holy Scriptures, dedication to academic excellence for the glory of God, and commitment to change the world for Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. We offer this conservative academic environment to a highly diverse student body.”

“Most Conservative” was one of a number of lists compiled by Newsweek for its “2012’s Best College’s For You” as the magazine assessed schools by specific factors, “both practical and existential.”

“Louisiana College is also proud to be recognized through this list as the most conservative Southern Baptist College in the nation,” Dr. Aguillard said.
