PINEVILLE, La. (LCNews)--Louisiana College has significantly reduced tuition rates for international students enrolling in the college for the first time.

Qualified, first-time enrollees will enjoy a tuition rate that is more than 60 percent less than peer institutions at only $10,000 for two, 12-18 hour semesters for the 2017-18 academic year. Additional hours incur additional payment. Food costs are only $2,000 per year.

To cover the cost of housing, students must participate in a work grant program comprised of 10 hours per week for 12 weeks per semester.  Or, students may choose from housing options ranging from $2,000 - $3,000 annually.

“We have yet to find any peer institution offering such a financial advantage to international students,” said Dr. Rick Brewer, president of Louisiana College.  “Our strategy is intentional and missional as we blend academic excellence with curricula built upon a Christian worldview.”

International students with a TOEFL score of 60-79 will be assisted by LC’s robust ESL program. Students with a TOEFL score of at least 80 are exempt from ESL.

Officially designated as “2017 Safest Campuses in the state of Louisiana,” LC remains an “excellent option for international students,” said Dr. Brandon Bannon, vice president for Student Development.

The private, coeducational college of liberal arts is situated on an 80-acre campus and offers relevant degree programs, relational faculty and rigorous academics, as well as 18 NCAA Division III sports.

“Our students are equipped by critical thinking, analytical reasoning and problem solving skills,” Brewer said. “When learned, these skills will open any occupational door. Also, LC has been ranked multiple times by ‘US News and World Report’ as ‘Best Regional College.’”

Accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools,  programs of study include bachelor degrees in Science, Arts, Music, Nursing, Christian Studies, Social Work, Leadership, General Studies, and Master of Arts in Teaching. We are also offering new course offerings in Pre-Engineering and Computer Science.
