Dr. Cheryl Clark has been promoted to Vice President for Academic Affairs, having served previously as an associate and then interim in the role.
Holding a PhD, MA, and BA from the University of Southern Mississippi, Dr. Clark serves LC as an associate professor of English and Chair, Division of Humanities. She also holds the Olive Ann Rau Chair in English, is secretary of the North American Burney Society, and is director of LC’s Writing Center.
Dr. Clark has selflessly and sacrificially served LC as one with exemplary leadership skills, a tireless work ethic, and a commitment to offer her personal best, consistently,” said Dr. Rick Brewer, president. “Cheryl also provides invaluable insight and service as liaison to our accrediting body, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools - Commission on Colleges.”
Dr. Clark specializes in eighteenth-century British literature and domestic literature in British and American traditions, focusing particularly on women writers, feminist theory and criticism, and the novel.
