Caudell Cup Piano Competition

The Caudell Cup Competition was first held in 1922 and is one of the most prestigious awards at Louisiana College. Lois Culpepper was the winner of the first Competition. The Cup, awarded for excellence in piano performance, is a significant recognition of piano performing skills.

In 1980, the Competition was endowed by the late Mrs. Kite Caudell. She was a native of Grant Parish and a 1921 graduate of Louisiana College. She taught piano in the Pineville area for 40 years and was a faithful pianist at First Baptist Church in Pineville and for the Pineville Kiwanis Club. She was also an active Garden Club member and civic leader.

Mrs. Caudell was presented with the Matinee Music Club Community Service Award for outstanding service to the Central Louisiana area in 1977 and was named a Distinguished Alumna of Louisiana College in 1978.
