Scholarships
Richardson-Burton Scholarship
Through the generosity of a North Louisiana family, the department has
this endowed scholarship which can be used for anyone majoring in this
department. This scholarship is administered by the Department. Application
in the form of a letter should be made to the Department Coordinator.
Ray and Bobbie Gwin Wallace Forensic Scholarship
Rev. Ray Wallace, a former LC debater, and his wife endowed this forensic
scholarship. As with all endowed scholarships, the amount of the award
varies from year to year due to changing interest rates. It is awarded
annually to an active debater.*
Dr. G. Earl Guinn Endowed Forensic Scholarship
Given in honor of President Emeritus and outstanding LC debater Dr. G.
Earl Guinn, this is one of the most prestigious scholarships awarded by
the department to an active member of the Debate Squad.*
Joe D. Smith Endowed Forensic Scholarship
Joe. D. Smith has long been a strong supporter of the Louisiana College
Forensic program. A championship speaker as a student at LC, Dr. Smith
is the retired publisher of the Alexandria, LA, Town Talk. The
number and amounts of the scholarships are dependent upon the endowment
income and are awarded on an annual basis.*
*These scholarships
are awarded by the Director of Forensics. Application in the form of a
letter should be made to Dr. Don Shipley, Jr..
