ACADEMICS:
In the Louisiana College two year program you will be exposed to new
and challenging concepts designed to develop your clinical problem solving
skills. Our small class size will allow you to receive the most personalized
education available ensuring you obtain the skills and knowledge for
the National Board Exam and success in the field of physical therapy (PT).
As part of the PTA program, you will go to numerous clinical settings and
learn in a working PT department. These clinical experiences will enhance
your skills and prepare you for the transition into an exciting job market.
CAREER CHOICES
The field of physical therapy offers PTAs the opportunity to make a difference
in a person’s life while in dynamic work settings. According to
the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics for Louisiana for
Louisiana May 2006, “Job Outlook Employment of physical therapist assistants
and aides is expected to grow much faster than the average for all
occupations through the year 2014.”
CONVENIENCE
The location of Louisiana College brings new opportunities for those
interested in Physical Therapist Assistant. Until now, the only options for
seeking this degree were located in Bossier, Baton Rouge or New Orleans.
Also with the opportunity of courses online at Louisiana College, much of
the first year of the program will be available online.
PROFESSIONALLY
Our students will make a difference in their community by providing
care as a member of the PTA profession within the context of a Christian
philosophy and standard of ethics. Whether it’s treating a child’s injury,
guiding a patient through rehabilitation, or teaching an elderly person
a healthier lifestyle, PTAs have the skills to help people gain functional
independence and to have an improved quality of life.
