A native of Natchitoches, Louisiana, Randall Hargis received his bachelor's degree in accounting from Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana.

Mr. Hargis, a certified public accountant, previously worked for the College's accounting firm, Payne, Moore and Herrington, for eight years before being employed at Louisiana College in 1985. At Louisiana College, Hargis has served as the Business Office Manager from 1985 to 1989 and then as Business Manager from 1989 to 2001. He was named Vice President for Business Affairs/Chief Financial Officer in 2001.

Hargis is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Society of Louisiana Certified Accountants, the Alexandria Chapter of the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants, Beta Alpha Psi (a National Accounting Fraternity), the National Association of College and University Business Officers, and the Southern Association of College and University Business Officers.
