“For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” – Colossians 1:16-17
When we think of the things The Lord created, nature’s fixed laws and principles are among them. This, of course, includes the areas of math and science.
As a student in Mathematics, you will study the principles of the mathematical sciences, with a focus on helping you to develop your conceptualization and analytical thought processes.
The Department of Mathematics offers degrees that combine standard principles of mathematics, both theoretical and applied, along with emerging computational technology. The curriculum is designed so that you can build skills and acquire knowledge in the various disciplines of mathematics. Technology such as computers, calculators, and calculating software are integrated into instruction.
Our goal is for you as a math major is for you to develop the necessary skills for a successful career in the mathematics field while also providing you with a solid foundation for the continued study of Mathematics, Business, or Computer Science at the post-baccalaureate level.
