The Louisiana College Library, located in the Richard W. Norton Memorial building, contains more than 91,000 volumes, 75,000 microforms, and subscribes to 82 professional journals. Electronic access to 280,000 e-books and 13,200 e-journals is also available.  As a selected depository for Federal and Louisiana documents the library provides access to print and online documents. A member of the Online Computer Library Center (OCLC), the library has access to over 35 million titles to assist students and faculty in obtaining materials needed for research.

The library has a large computer lab that provides access to the Internet, email, the library catalog, and a variety of software packages supporting the college’s curriculum.

Library Computer Use Policy

Computing and telecommunications facilities located in the Louisiana College Library are provided primarily for the use of the College's students, faculty, and staff. Recognizing the library's mission to serve users beyond the campus, the College designates a limited number of computer workstations for the general public to use when not needed by LC students, faculty, or staff. Complaints against off-campus visitors will be referred to the library staff and then to campus security if necessary.


Adults from outside the college community are permitted in-building use of the library’s resources.  High school students (grades 9-12) are allowed to use the library for class assignments exceeding the resources available at their school and the parish library.  Students and children under high school age are permitted to enter the library only under the supervision of an adult user. 


The individuals in following classifications are designated as “Guest Borrowers” with limited circulation privileges:

  1. Louisiana College Alumni
  2. Area ministers
  3. Louisiana Baptist Convention employees
  4. Local school teachers (public and private)
  5. Home school teachers
  6. LALINC institution faculty
  7. LSUA faculty and students

Guest Borrowers are allowed to check-out three (3) items, or have three (3) library items in their possession.

All Guest Borrowers are issued a Louisiana College Library card.  A lost or damaged card will result in a replacement fee of $15.00.  Exception, LSUA and LALINC card holders may use their institution’s ID card when a barcode compatible with the Louisiana College Library circulation system is printed on the card.
