Assistant Professor of Computer Science

Jennifer DePriest, Associate Professor of Computer Science at Louisiana College, has been introducing young adults to the world of computer programming for the past 16 years.  She has been a part of the Louisiana College Family since January 2002.  Her love of programming not only comes to life in the classroom, but to youth in our community as well.  This fall she launched ‘Kids Who Code’ so that today’s young people might become the computer programmers and entrepreneurs of tomorrow.    In addition, she also helps small business owners throughout our region learn how they can blog about their business to enhance and grow their businesses.  This is also something that she teaches her students as well, so that they may also assist their future employers.  Partnering with the community on various projects, ranging from database design to establishing a presence in social media, has enabled her to build a working relationship with businesses in our community.  Her passion for computers and technology, showing students how they can use this powerful medium to have a positive impact on the world is reflected within all of her courses.
