Accelerated B.S.N. Program

The accelerated BSN program (ABSN) has been developed specifically for individuals who already have an undergraduate degree in another discipline.  For a whole host of reasons, these people consider transitioning into a career in nursing. Many are seeking the employment opportunities offered within nursing and others state that they are eagerly seeking a career that would allow them to give something of themselves.

ABSN students bring the skills and abilities that helped them complete their prior degree.  Many also have a strong career background in other professional areas.

The course pre-requisites need to be completed prior to commencing the ABSN clinical program, but application can be made when pre-req study is underway.

Our nursing recruitment specialist will assist with application information and procedures for interviews, etc.   Please contact our Program Specialist(s), Mrs. Liz Moser at

The CAS link for information on LC Nursing and ABSN admissions and applications for fall 2015 reopened in August 2014.

If you are considering a transition into a career in nursing you need to carefully plan out the time, resources and effort required to make that transition.  You need to select a nursing program that will allow you to consolidate your learning and ensure that you are meeting academic targets in a realistic manner.  Accelerated does not mean abbreviated!   You do need to be prepared to meet ... head on ... the challenges of a rapidly changing and versatile health care profession.  In your search for a program that offers you the very best foundation in clinical excellence, preparation for graduate study and leadership ... consider LC!

Since its launch in 2009 the ABSN program has had considerable success.  The first time pass rate for ABSN NCLEX nursing licensure has been:
  • 2010, 100%
  • 2011, 100%
  • 2012, 100%
  • 2013, 96%
  • 2014,
The success of the program in preparing LC graduates for this exam is demonstrated by the high level of confidence and competence that graduates feel they have to pass the NCLEX exam. When compared against national standards, the level of professional preparation provided through the ABSN program is outstanding.
